Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I use my own batting and backing fabrics?

A: Yes, you may. Our pricing is competitive with most retailers, however you may submit your own batting and/or backing. Please note:

We do not accept bed sheets for use as a backing fabric.

Seams are permitted on backing fabric, but the backing should not be a complete patchwork. If your backing is not square, it will impact your final product. Additional charges may apply for us to correct and square your backing fabric.

Please see our Preparing Your Quilt Top page for batting and backing size requirements and how to square your backing fabric.

Batting fabric may be carefully joined using a zigzag stitch on two pieces laid next to each other. Please do not overlap the batting and sew it together, as this creates excess bulk that can disrupt the quilting process.

We reserve the right to reject batting or backing fabrics that could damage our equiptment or reduce the quality of your finished product. We know you've put many hours into your project, and we want to return a quilt that you will be proud of! If we find any materials to be questionable, we will reach out to you to determine next steps before we begin work.
